Consolidate all files so each track has one file that starts at 0:00:00. For example, a 30-track song that’s 4:15 long should result in 30 files, each 4:15 in length.
What Do I Send?
If you used ProTools, Logic, or GarageBand:
Session File (.ptx for ProTools, .logicx for Logic, .band for GarageBand)
Audio Files folder (if there is one)
A stereo copy of the song’s current mix or rough mix
Any specific notes on the song(s)
If you used other software (i.e. Cubase, Reaper, etc.):
Individual Audio Files
Most recording programs have individual track export under the “File” menu
.WAV or .AIF format, not .mp3
Export at whichever bit rate/sample rate you recorded at (for example, 24-bit/44.1k)
Remove all plugins (usually this is an option when exporting; just one button click)
But DO include any vocal tuning that has already been done
If there is an effect is crucial to the song or very unique, send both a “dry” version (no effect) and a “wet” version (with effect)
